Senate Speaker Prasobsuk Boondet on Thursday confirmed he had alreadly forwarded the impeachment petition against senator Paiboon Nittitawan for the judicial review by the Constitution Court.
"The petition was in proper order, the basis for my endorsement to forward it for the Constitution Court ruling," he said.
The petition, initiated by senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana and co-sponsored by 17 senators, seeks to impeach Paiboon on the ground of his alleged improper conduct by convincing Khunying Jaruwan Maintaka to stay on as the auditor general despite her retirement at 65.
Paiboon wrongfully projected himself as acting in the capacity of legal adviser to Prasobsuk although neither the speaker nor the Senate had given him the mandate to meddle with the Office of the Auditor General, according to the petition.
In a separate litigation, the Administrative Court is expected to rule by next month related to Jaruvan's job, Ruangkrai said.
