Cerebos Thailand on Monday opened two side-by-side factories on 38 rai (6 hectares) in Chon Buri's Sri Racha district under a Bt2.45-billion budget to boost sales by 15 per cent next year.
The new facilities will serve increasing demand from both the domestic and overseas markets.
One will produce copyrighted double-lock lids and the other Brand's Bird's Nest and Brand's Veta, Lackana Leelayouthayotin, executive vice president and chief executive of the health supplement division, said yesterday.
The old factory at Laem Chabang in the same province will make only Brand's Essence of Chicken.
Tul Wongsuphasawat, general manager, said the company was aiming for sales growth of 10-15 per cent next year.
The biggest demand is for Brand's Essence of Chicken, which controls 91 per cent of its market with sales of Bt3.5 billion, followed by Brand's Bird's Nest with 60 per cent and Bt2.5 billion market value. Brand's Veta holds 95 per cent of its market.
The additional facilities will triple production capacity and increase export coverage to 17 countries, such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand and China, Tul said.
Lackana said the company had bought a Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy machine that detects contamination by any foreign objects, so consumers can serve Brand's Bird's Nest products with 100-per-cent full confidence.
She became CEO this month of the health supplements division.
