The Thailand Management Association is to stage the Thailand Competitiveness Conference 2010 from August 31 to September 2 at the Plaza Athenee Hotel. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, Deputy Prime Minister Trairong Suwankhiri and Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij will be keynote speakers.
Other speakers will include Science and Technology Minister Virachai Virameteekul; a principal of the Boston Consulting Group, John Wagner, who will speak on "Thailand's Competitiveness in the MICE Industry"; the deputy director of IMD's World Competitiveness Centre, Suzanne Rosselet; the president of Thai Airways International, Piyasvasti Amranand; the chief executive of PTT Exploration and Production, Anon Sirisaengtaksin; and the president of Siam Cement Group, Kan Trakulhoon.

The newspaper Krungthep Turakij, in conjunction with Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy and the National Science and Technology Development Agency, will hold an "Innovation and Creativity for the Future" seminar on September 9 at the Conrad Hotel.
The seminar will feature chief executives of some of Thailand's most creative companies, including the founder of the Oishi Group, Tan Passakornnatee; Central Pattana's executive vice president Nuttakit Tangpulsinthana; Index Creative Village's co-chief executive Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin; and Workpoint Entertainment's co-founder Prapas Cholsaranon.

The Office of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) is organising a free seminar on Saturday entitled "The Secret Recipe of Research-based Businesses". It will be held at the Centara Grand Hotel, Bangkok.
