PTT will soon arrange a conference to regain public confidence on its sixth gas separation plant and the ethane cracker, said Attapol Rerkphiboon, PTT executive vice president for Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility.
To Suthi Atchasai, a coordinator of the public network in the East, who submitted the written concerns to PTT today, he insisted that the plant is carefully designed and constructed to avoid land erosion.
Attapol added that the company intends to conduct the health impact assessment for all projects in Map Ta Phut, no matter if they are included in the list of harmful projects. The HIA is underway and, coupled with the public hearing, is expected to be complete within this year.
"We insist that PTT Group is committed to international practices and social responsibility. We're open for public opinions and suggestions from surrounding communities, for the co-existence of industrial development and communities," he said.
