The House could not convene its Wednesday's session due to lack of quorum, House Speaker Chai Chidchob said after he was forced adjourn following the quorum vote. The quorum of 237 MPs was needed for the session.
As of 9.00 am, some 232 MPs signed in the attendence sheet, signalling their report to duty. Due to low attendance, Chai opted for a consultation on the people's grievances while awaiting for more MPs to arrive at Parliament.
Following an hour-long consultation, Pheu Thai MP Prayuth Siripanit voiced his protest about the delayed session. This forced Chai to commence checking for quorum. Some 216 MPs were present for the check causing the adjournment.
