Thailand and Cambodia have decided to postpone indefinitely their General Border Committee (GBC) which is scheduled to be held late this month, Thai defence ministry spokesman said Wednesday.
Thailand is scheduled to host the GBC which is co-chaired by the countries' defence ministers between August 27 and 28 in Thailand.
The spokesman denied that the postponement was caused by war of words between Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva and Cambodian PM Hun Sen involving Phra Viharn Temple.
"Both countries need more time to prepare the meeting's documents as they involved many topics including security, drug smuggling, human trafficking and maritime security," the spokesman said.
The new date of the meeting would be worked out later.
