Hassavut Vititviriyakul is slated to become president of the Supreme Administrative Court following yesterday's vote to endorse his nomination by the Judicial Commission of the Administrative Courts.
Pending royal command of his appointment, Hassavut will assume office following the September 30 retirement of incumbent president Ackaratorn Chularat, the first to take up the judicial presidency since the administrative courts came into existence in 2001.
The top slots of the high court will be filled by a completely new team led by Hassavut because Ackaratorn and his two vice presidents, Akarawit Sumawong and Thirayuth Lorlertratna will step down at the same time.
Incoming vice presidents are Kasem Comsatyadham and Vichai Chuenchompoonut.
The appointments of Hassavut, Kasem and Vichai are based on seniority. The three have been senior judges of a chamber in the high court, the seniormost position next to Ackaratorn.
