Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij will hold a meeting with members of the Thai Bankers Association for a discussion on interest rate spreads.
Saying while attending the Money & Banking Awards 2010 on Wednesday night, he believed that commercial banks have the right understanding why spreads need to be lowered, for fairness to consumers.
New TBA Chairman Chartsiri Sophonpanich echoed the authorities' concerns. He noted that the association is ready to follow the policy.
