The Home Builder Association expects to clinch contracts worth at least Bt2.4 billion dur¬ing the Home Builder 2010 fair that runs from August 1822 at Bangkok's Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
This is part of a move to boost the homebuilding market from last year's Bt10.9 billion to Bt12 billion by the end of this year, the association's president Vibul Chantradilokrat said.
Home Buyer's Guide magazine is also holding the Home Buyers' Expo at the same location from August 1922 and expects between 70,000 and 80,000 visitors.
Vibul said Home Builder 2010, organised under the "Trend & Beyond" concept, would feature sev¬eral brandnew housing models and offer visitors a large variety of products and services.
With more than 40 home builders, constructionmateri?al suppliers, financial institu?tions and property media at the expo, it is expected the event will become a key mechanism in stimulating the market in the second half of this year after it was considerably hit by economic and political factors.
Vibul said that though demands for building new residences in the first half of this year had dropped, members of the association were not affect?ed too badly because most consumers has a lot of trust in the group. This is why the association believes the home builders' market will grow to Bt12 billion this year.
To drive market growth, the association has set aside Bt2 million for promotions during the event. Under the promotions, people who sign agreements onsite will have a chance at winning one of the four Nissan March vehicles on offer or one of the 15 32inch LCD televisions.
Those who preregister through the association's website, www.hbath.org, will get an extra discount of up to Bt10,000 when they sign their homebuilding agreement onsite and will also stand the chance of winning a BlackBerry smartphone.
