Former Bank of Thailand governor MR Pridiyathorn Devakula on Friday admitted he had turned down a job offer to lead the opposition Pheu Thai Party.
"Pheu Thai did recruited me but that was in the past which happened before the unrest," he said, in an interview given to Krungthep Turakij online edition.
Pridiyathorn said he was offered the job by a Pheu Thai official who is a few year younger than him, dismissing speculation that ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra had contacted him personally.
"Although I want to serve the country, the political confict is so intense that I will be quashed if intervened," he said.
