The National Anti Corruption Commission might drop the complaint on SMS case filed against the prime minister and the finance minister due to lack of evidence for foul play, NACC member Klanarong Chantik said on Thursday.
"Because of time contraints and heavy workload, the NACC has decided to announce its decision on SMS case from this afternoon to tomorrow's morning," Klanarong said.
Pending the outcome of the ongoing debate this afternoon by the NACC, the investigative panel has recommended for dropping the case as there is no evidence to warrant any further checks, he said.
PM Abhisit Vejjajiva and Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij has been accused of abusing power to using short messaging services to contact the people via mobile phone operators last year.
The complaint was lodged by senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana.
If the NACC rules to establish the cause to suspect guilt, then the two are liable for suspension pending the impeachment proceedings.
