Consultancy firms a vital channel of communication with customers


More local and multinational companies are seeking help from consultancy firms to communicate better with their customers, especially after the recent political unrest and the global recession affected consumer sentiment.

 

It is these factors that are bringing companies to Verztec Consultancy, an international provider of global content management and localisation services, said Nicholas Goh, chief executive officer and founder of the company. The top customers are those related to tourism and consumption.

"It is very important to increase communication with customers, especially during tough times. That's why many companies ask us to come up with the right words to 'talk' to their customers," he said.

He added that more Thai businesses were seeking help from consultancy firms to develop their image in the international field.

Many local firms want to go global, and to do this they need to develop their image and communication content, including information on brochures, websites and products to communicate with targeted markets, he said.

Verztec's clients in the Kingdom are Central Pattana, MBK, Thailand Privilege Card and Smart Infonet, to name a few. The Singapore-based company offers global content management services in several different languages.

Established in 2008, the firm also has branches in the United States, Japan, South Korea, China and the UK and provides services for about 100 global firms. Verztec provides services to one-third of the top 500 leading firms listed in Fortune magazine.

The company's key customer accounts include IBM, McDonald's, Philips, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, TOTAL, Clarion, ESPN Star Sports, Nielsen Company, Lucent Technologies, Abbott Laboratories, Sony, HSBC and Microsoft, to name a few.

Goh explained that customers' sentiment was weakening because of the economic slowdown, and therefore it was important for private enterprises to use communication channels efficiently to hang on to their customers as well as find new opportunities. This is where they can use Verztec's expertise in adapting their products to meet the cultural, social and business requirements in other countries.

Over the years, Verztec has earned a reputation for providing strategic guidance for global learning initiatives as well as for creating and producing business communication in more than 60 languages.
