Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will change all its bus numbers and extend routes to serve commuters in outer Bangkok and neighbouring provinces over the next two years, Daily News reported yesterday.
BMTA will replace its 3,509 buses in current use with 4,000 new buses that can be refilled with natural gas for vehicles.
This service operates on 128 routes and new 27 routes are expected to be available in the next two years once the new NGV buses start.
All bus numbers will also be changed, because the BMTA wants to manage its buses systematically.
New numbers have been stuck on some buses, so passengers can remember them before they are used.
