Major communications associations have joined up for the first time ever to launch "Positive Network" - a social campaign meant to reflect the voice of Thais from all classes and social groups in a systematic and sustainable manner.
Participated in by agencies such as the Advertising Association of Thailand, Public Relations Society of Thailand, Media Agency Association of Thailand, Thailand Cable TV Association and Thailand Social Network, the campaign will cover both above and below-the-line activities, including TV commercials, media advertising, public polls and talk events.

All activities are designed to promote awareness and understanding of the country's real issues such as politics and society, and to become another source in gathering the voice of people to push the government to work in line with the real needs and wants of the public.
Chaipranin Visudhipol, chairman of TBWA\Thai, a leading local ad agency, said the communications agencies chose to launch this campaign because they wanted to see Thailand become a better country.
"We want to become an important mechanism in reflecting the voices of Thais and become a gauge in measuring their temperature, and reflecting their power in managing the country," he said.
Chaipranin added that public polls would be conducted by the end of this year in cooperation with all leading poll agencies to reflect the voice of people in issues related to their livelihood, the economy as well as society and the country's politics.
Bhanu Inkawat, creative director of Greyhound, said Thais should become active citizens and understand their roles, duty and their own power. He explained that every person's action had a big impact in society.
"As professionals in the communications sector, we have joined up to encourage Thais in all groups to hold more talks, listen to each other and understand their role in using their personal power to make our country better," he said.
Poramate Minsiri, a well-known web designer and creator of the well-known "Kapook" website, said an "Ignite Thailand" forum would be held to gather valuable ideas and disseminate them via social-networking groups.
"We will hold Ignite Thailand talks in 20 cities across the country, and expect 400 igniters and 5,000 participants. This should result in more than 1 million views," Poramate said.
Ignite is a high-energy event, where everybody will be given five minutes to present their ideas on stage. Run by local volunteers connected through the global Ignite network, this event works to raise the collective IQ and build connections in each city.
In addition, all the knowledge and ideas gathered are shared around the world through streaming and archived videos.
