Sena Development is maintaining its forecast of 20percent revenue growth to Bt1.5 billion this year despite the harm the recent political unrest has done to the property sector.
Director Kessara Thanyalakpark yesterday said the local political turmoil had affected both the country's economy and consumer confidence, particularly property sentiment.
The company has attempted to launch new campaigns to improve the purchasing mood. Kessara said while demand was there, customers were still not spending, due to the prevailing mood of economic uncertainty.
"The mood for buying residential projects has declined, so we're trying to launch new campaigns to tap customers' wants," she said.
She said the company this year had reduced new launches to six, from seven earlier, due to the political unrest and market oversupply. These include a residential condominium to be launched early next year.
She said secondquarter revenue was expected to fall 1020percent short of the first quarter's Bt367 million, due partly to the political trouble, but also because the second quarter is the low season for property sales.
Kessara said Sena had launched a new campaign in which customers received a gold ornament when booking a unit. The offer will end tomorrow, and Sena hopes it will entice more customers and restore sales revenue to previous levels.
Sena expects sales revenue of at least Bt300 million from the new campaign, she said.
The company is keeping its sights on its Bt1.5billion target, because it continues to reap revenue from ongoing projects and expects to take in more from new projects this year.
Sena yesterday closed at Bt1.91, down from Bt1.92 from Friday.
