Foreign investors remained net-sellers in May, with their sale exceeding purchases by Bt58.79 billion, according to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
They remained net-sellers for two consecutive months. Turnover in May averaged at Bt23.9 billion, down 4.10 per cent from the previous month but stayed above the average in 2009.
Due to heightened political situation in the month and the European debt crisis, the SET Index in the month dropped 1.71 per cent from the previous month to 750.43 points. Market capitalisation declined to Bt6 trillion. However, the market flared better than regional bourses. Meanwhile, the end-May closing was 2.16 per cent higher than the closing at the end of last year.
