An activist doctor yesterday threatened to file defamation lawsuits against three Pheu Thai Party MPs for accusing him of bribing the relatives of people killed in Pathum Wanaram Temple and seek the parliamentarians' ousting.
He dismissed as baseless a statement from MP Phaijit Srivorakhan, who said he was a nominee of People's Alliance for Democracy and that he was paid several millions of baht by the government to launch the multi-coloured shirt campaign against the red-shirt movement.
MP Arunee Chamnanya has also been included in the lawsuits because she claimed Tul took part in body searches of the red shirts residing in the temple before they were allowed to return home.
"I did not search the demonstrators but was there to provide them with food and water," he added.
MP Wicharn Meenchainant accused Tul of paying Bt100,000 to families of six people killed mysteriously in the temple in exchange for their civil action to oust the three MPs.
