The government suspected ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra for sabotaging the negotiations with the red shirts, secretary general to the prime minister Korbsak Sabhavasu said on Wednesday.
"No more negotiations because the talks already collapsed," he said.
Korbsak, assigned by the prime minister to handle the secret talks with the red shirts, blamed Thaksin for the failed negotiations.
The red-shirt leaders consulted with Thaksin and he turned down the negotiations as an option since he saw he would not benefit, he said.
