The Swedish designer presents not just fabulous fashions|but also a range of cosmetics for the Thai woman
The new cosmetics collection by Swedish couturier Lars Wallin, "Make It Your Own" for Make Up Store cosmetics, comes with lots of delightful details, things like a paisley patterned purse and a box with a textile feel. The palette has products for the eyes, cheeks and lips, all in playful colours. Wallin, who also presented fabulous evening gowns and smart dresses under the same theme, offers fashion-conscious ladies, artistic creativity, sassy haute couture and lots of tasteful glamour.
"My philosophy about shapes and colours is to bring an ultra-glamorous twist to rigorous quality. I have always created and designed first class fashion," he says. "Now I have brought my philosophy from the textile industries to the equally fabulous world of cosmetics."
Wallin made his debut on the Swedish fashion stage in 1990 and quickly earned a reputation for elegant dresses with exquisite tailoring. He also became known for his evening gowns and exclusive outfits at the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants as well as his dresses for the Swedish Royal Family.
At the recent Bangkok launch event, Wallin showed off his timeless couture collection "Bohemian Chic", the highlight of which was the exquisitely tailored Peacock dress, which he says was especially created for the Thai market. "I think the peacock is this country's symbol. It is not only colourful but also beautiful. Personally, I think Thai women are very colourful, they have beautiful skin tone, dark hair, and dark eyes," he notes.
"Beautiful things always affect you. Everyone enjoys looking at something pleasant," he adds.
Wallin's makeup collection is for autumn with deep berry tones that also dominated the catwalk during spring 2009.
He says he's designed cosmetics for the eyes, cheeks and lips in very clean and clear colours allowing clients to create their own fantasy world of makeup. "I'd like to encourage women not to be afraid of colours. That's why I named the collection 'Make It Your Own'," he smiles.
Each product is packed in a purse, then into an exclusive box, all designed by Wallin. The collection is available at Make Up Store counters at department stores.
