The Constitution Court yesterday gave the Democrat Party 15 days to present its explanation of controversial budget expenditure, court president's secretary Pasit Sakdanarong said.
The original deadline was yesterday and the Democrats asked for a 30-day extension.
Pasit said one of the judges Chalermpol Ek-uru had quit the case because he carries the same family name as Democrat Songkhla MP Praporn, who is also mentioned in the case.
Pasit said the court would not delay or hasten the case but proceed with in a fair manner. Meanwhile, the time it would need to complete the case could not be estimated because each case is different.
