Police, informers give blood

The heads of Metropolitan Police Division 6 yesterday led riot police and motorcycle taxi volunteers who work as inform-ers to donate blood at the Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS) to mark World Red Cross Day.

May 8 is the birthday of Henri Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, and celebrated as World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has cam-paigned under the motto "Our World, Your Move".

In related news, the Thai Red Cross Society resumed services at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital yesterday for an extra hour on weekends after it was suspended because of the political turmoil.

Many people went to the clinic to receive treatment at the hospital yesterday. It will be ready to provide general sur-gery service tomorrow.

The director said he needed to evaluate the situation closely before deciding to reopen the clinic for another extra hour in the evening on weekdays.
