Many complaints

Around 100 students yesterday complained about the central university admissions system to the Council of University Presidents of Thailand after the results were released on Friday.

About 800 claimed via tele-phone that they were deprived of the right to compete for a place through the central sys-tem, even though they notified universities about their deci-sion not to be included in direct admissions after they passed direct admission tests.

Other problems reported involved forgetting their appli-cation ID number, scores of some subjects of the Ordinary National Educational Test (ONET) submitted by students differed from scores included in admissions' results, and some students' ONET scores not being processed by the sys-tem's computers.

Those with questions about direct admissions were urged to contact the respective uni-versities and those with other issues were advised to inquire with the CUPT by May 12.
