Former deputy secretary general of now defunct Thai Rak Thai party Pongsak Raktapongpaisarn reports himself to Emergency Operations Command on Sunday.
Pongsak is among about 50 businessmen and politicians who are summoned by the EOC's the Center for the Resolution of Emergency Situations to testify their involvement in the red-shirt demonstration.
He told reporters before reporting that he had visited a foreign country and just returned to Thailand on Saturday. Before learning about the orders, he planned to go to the US.
However he decided to cancel the plans after learning about the order.
He denied that he involved in the demonstration because he has played no role in the demonstration and Pheu Thai Party.
"We should respect that the red shirts have their own fund and have those who are really rich to support their activities. I have not enough money to give to them. The authorities could verify my situation," he said.
He also dismissed a report that he received money from runaway ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra and gave it to the red shirts, saying every time he visited Thaksin, he played golf only. There was no other political activities or whatsoever, he said.
Commenting on the ongoing political instability caused by the red shirts protest, Pongsak said that he sympathised with the country and Thai people.
"I also sympathised with the red shirts because they have ideology and fought for justice," he said.
He said he did not worry much that he was summoned to testify today because I have no involvement in the protest.
