Red shirts leader Jatuporn Promphan refused to talk to Banharn Sinlapa-archa unless his Chart Thai Pattana party withdraws from the Democrat-led government.
In a coalition parties meeting last Sunday, Banharn offered to help negotiate with ex-former PM Thaksin Shinawatra on behalf of the government, a source from coalition parties said.
The coalition parties agreed that the government's roadmap to dissolve the House within nine months was too long. They suggested the Democrat to dissolve with in six months, Chart That Pattana party spokesman Watchara Kannika said.
The source said Banharn suggested the Democrat to show their sincerity to amend two points of the charter, which are smaller election constituency and Article 190, which requires contracts with foreign countries to go through the Parliament.
Banharn said the perfect timing would be when the annual budget bill passed by September, the source said.
Suthep finally discussed Banharn's proposal to the Democrat and agreed with two points of the charter amendment
All of coalition parties refused to meet with Democrats' Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban at 11th infantry regiment as Suthep invited in the morning but instead met at a hotel in Bangkok in the evening. Later Suthep had to join them at the hotel.
