People visiting their hometowns outside Bangkok during the Songkran holidays will be able to use medical services at any nearby hospitals in case of accident or emergency, the National Health Security Office (NHSO) director-general said yesterday.
Dr Winai Sawasdivorn said that, from April 10 to 18, some of the 47 million NHSO subscribers who travelled upcountry could use their own ID cards instead of the membership "gold cards" to get emergency medical services as many times as necessary, before they could be transferred to their NHSOsubscribing hospitals.
The "many times as necessary" provision was a change from the previous NHSO practice that allowed each subscriber to get emergency medical services twice a year.
Hotline 1330 is available for more information about NHSO services.
Winai urged people to report road accidents on the hotline 1669 so victims could be rescued within 30 minutes.
