The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the enforcement of the Internal Security Act for an extra seven days until March 30 in the face of protests by the red shirts.
The security enforcement areas will cover Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, cutting down the previous coverage of the capital and seven surrounding provinces.
Two districts, Mueang and Pak Kred, in Nonthaburi and five districts of Samut Prakan are placed under the security measures.
