SET assures uninterrupted services

The Stock Exchange of Thailand assured all of the normal function of the trading and settlement systems, with the contingency measures in place for any impacts from the demonstration.

SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai said that the contingency plan is in place to cope with any impacts from the political demonstration during March 12-15. A special working committee will closely monitor the situation, with focus on the execution and related systems to facilitate transactions orders from local and foreign investors.

"Security measures are plotted to protect the building, employees and operating infrastructure, to ensure that the transaction process would not be disrupted. Meanwhile, the working committee on Business Continuity Plan also prepares auxiliary systems, in the case that the building is blocked," she said.

The exchange also works closely with securities firms to ensure business continuity, so that all orders could be executed despite any impacts.
