Eco car's concept model launched in BKK

Honda Automobile (Thailand) maintains the schedule to manufacture its eco-car in Thailand in 2011, with the plan to launch the model at the Bangkok International Motor Show later this month.

"Emerging to the market trends and consumers' lifestyles indicate an unmet need for small-sized, fuel-economy, and environment-friendly vehicles.  Meanwhile the Thai government initiated the Eco-Car project to promote automobile industry a few years ago...This concept model, researched and designed in Japan, features a futuristic and stylish design and forms the basis for Honda's eco-car in Thailand which will be introduced in 2011, and is expected to attract public attention at the motor show," said Atsushi Fujimoto, president of Honda Automobile (Thailand).

Honda is now the biggest player in the Thai passenger car market. Its eco car will feature Honda's advanced technologies, distinct styling designs, fuel economy and eco-friendly aspects that appeal to the driving needs and lifestyles of today's motorists.

The eco-car will be manufactured at Honda's plant in Ayutthaya for domestic and export markets.

The Bangkok International Motor Show will start on March 26.
