Thailand is pushing itself as the biofuel hub in the Bimstec grouping, to demonstrate the Kingdom's potential and advance in biofuels like gasohol and biodiesel.
Deputy Energy Permanent Secretary Kurujit Nakornthap said the proposal will be tabled at today's meeting of energy ministers of Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal. The grouping contains 1.4 billion population and shows economic size of US$4.26 trillion.
They will discuss the development in energy sources, transmission grid, and natural gas pipeline. The discussion also paves way for cooperation in alternative fuel development and energy efficiency enhancement.
