Her Serene Highness Princess Marsi Paribatra, now 79, depicts herself nude in most of her paintings - and quite a few are on view all this month at Siam Paragon - but actually she's a fan of Chanel.
The French fashion brand likes her too, even if her figure is so petite that all her outfits have to be taken in a few sizes.
Still, Marsi is a regular at the Chanel shop in Nice, not far from where she lives in southern France, and she always receives special service. Not long ago, to express her gratitude, the Princess gave the store manager a painting that showed her cat wearing a Chanel outfit.
The staff promptly hung it (the painting, not the cat) for other customers to admire, but then curator Michel Steve decided he'd like it for the Bangkok exhibition, so Marsi went into the shop to borrow it back - only to find an empty wall.
The painting was gone, and so was the former manager.
Steve tried to trace them both but got nowhere, so if anyone knows their whereabouts, give Paragon a call. If you spot the artwork, you'll definitely know it.
Busy, busy, busy
It's great that movie director MC Chatrichalerm "Than Mui" Yukol is poised to become president of the Federation of National Film Associations of Thailand, but there could be drawbacks.
The organisation is rumoured to be contemplating big changes once its current president, Jaruek Kanjaruek, steps down after this month's Subhanahongsa Awards.
The Federation wants to embrace all other forms of entertainment, like music and even games.
So Than Mui will have his work cut out for him if he's elected president and be able to bring his formidable charisma to the challenge. That's the good news.
The bad news is that his ongoing movie projects, including the "King Naresuan" series and "Petch Phra Uma", will be delayed even further.
But that's showbiz.
