Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij is convinced that the gross domestic product should expand over 5 per cent on year in the first quarter of this year.
To the audience of "Thailand Finance 2010" seminar, he noted that the growth rate is likely on the continued momentum from the fourth quarter, which showed the growth rate of 5.8 per cent on year.
Meanwhile, he said the Finance Ministry this morning just approved the sale of ACL Bank's shares to Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
Thailand is also on the move to sell a giant stake in Siam City Bank.
