First online store of its kind in Thailand makes it easy for Thai customers to purchase genuine Microsoft software from the comfort of their PC
Microsoft (Thailand) unveiled a new online store in collaboration with Microsoft resellers in Thailand in an effort to expand its sales channels for Windows 7 and Office Home & Student 2007 and to make it easier for Thai consumers to get hold of these popular Microsoft software titles.
The online store, or 'e-shop' is a 6-month pilot project that is open from February 11th, 2010 onwards at www.microsoft.com/thailand/eshop, where home-users and SME businesses nationwide can order genuine Microsoft products around-the-clock from two official Microsoft distributors, with easy payment methods and a free delivery service that promises to deliver within 5 days.
Speaking on the decision to establish an online sales channel in Thailand, Patama Chantaruck, Managing Director, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited said, "Since the successful launch of Windows 7 in October 2009, demand for Windows 7 in Thailand has risen dramatically. However, there are still many consumers out there who are unsure where the best place to buy Windows 7 in their town is and whether or not they are really getting the genuine version. As such, we decided to set up a dedicated online store that would make it easy for customers to purchase Microsoft products directly from accredited partners - guaranteeing genuine software delivered straight to their doorstep within just a few days of purchasing."
The new online store has been designed with general consumers in mind, although it is also open to orders from home office users operating 1 - 4 PCs. However, each individual order is limited to a maximum of 10 licenses. After selecting their desired software, online customers will be asked to confirm their order by choosing their preferred distributor (either 'Asoft1' or 'Selectmore') and filling out general details for proof of purchase and delivery. Their order will then be delivered free of charge via Thailand Post within 5 days of purchase.
Customers can choose from two easy payment methods, either by submitting their credit card details for instant online payment, or by printing out their order and taking it to available counter services nationwide where they can pay in cash. Meanwhile, customers will be able to track their order and delivery status at any time via www.thailandpost.co.th by simply searching for their order number. Full customer support will also be available by contacting the selected accredited distributor, or calling the Microsoft Call Center at 02 263 6888.
The full list of Microsoft software titles available for purchase at the online store is as follows: Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 7 Professional and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007, which can be installed on up to three different PCs. All software prices will match those offered at traditional retail channels. If customers would like to get hands-on experience with Windows 7 or Office Home and Student 2007, they are advised to visit Microsoft Thailand's official distributors.
