Closing statements in Thaksin case

Public prosecutors and the attorney for Pojaman na Pompet, ex-wife of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, will today file closing statements in the Bt76-billion assets-seizure trial.

Special Litigation deputy director Surasak Trirattrakul said yesterday that he would reveal the closing summary's details after it was filed to the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders.

Somporn Pongsuwan said he would submit his closing arguments today, which would be different from Thaksin's.

Kittiporn Adulrat, the attorney for Panthongtae and Pinthongta, Thaksin's son and daughter, said his closing brief to be filed tomorrow would stress that Thaksin and his family earned the Bt40 billion lawfully before Thaksin became premier and that both the son and daughter are not political officeholders.
