Two more people died from type-A (H1N1) influenza this week, bringing Thailand's toll to 198, the Disease Control Department chief said yesterday.
The Swine flu infection among general flu patients and pneumonia patients also rose from 4-5 per cent to 10 and 15 per cent, indicating a new round of outbreak especially in the North, he said.
Permanent Secretary for Public Health Phaijit Warachit reported that from January 11 until yesterday, 15,011 people at risk had received the Swine flu vaccine - 11,189 were medical personnel and 1,971 pregnant women. The Public Health Ministry aims to vaccinate two million people, and has urged all provinces to give the shots to at-risk persons and report to the department for assessment and follow up action.
