OCSC offers new uni student support


For junior university students opting for a scholarship to further education overseas and a job as a civil serŽvant, a new type of scholarship from the Office of the Civil Service Commission will be available next year.

The application period will start in February. Students in many fields are qualified for this kind of scholarŽship including: accounting, engineering, mental health, law, economics, business administration, and others.

More information can be found on OCSC's website, www. ocsc.go.th, Chutima Hanpachern, OCSC's director of the Senior Executive Service Centre said during a civil service recruitment and Royal Thai scholarships session at the OCSC International Education Expo 2009 Bangkok.

"Fortynine selected applicants will be funded from Bt200,000 to Bt400,000 immediately they become senŽior students. After graduation they will be recruited to work as civil servants at 12 state agencies for a few years. They will then be required to submit policy proposals to a committee. If their working performances and proŽposals satisfy the committee, they will be funded further for a masters degree aboard." Chutima said.
