The government will nominate Krisana Kraisintu, who has fought for patients' better access to HIV/Aids drugs in Asia and Africa, for a royal decoration.
"She's very outstanding," Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said yesterday.
He was speaking after attending a meeting on who should be awarded the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn.
The royal decoration was established by His Majesty the King in 1991, to be bestowed upon those who have rendered devoted services to the Kingdom.
Krisana received the 2009 Ramon Magsaysay Award earlier this year.
Suthep said Krisana would be among 1,000 people nominated for royal decorations.
His Majesty traditionally awards the decorations on the occasion of his birthday on December 5.
