Centara Plaza Hotel chief Suthikiati Chirathiwat has resolved to do "even better in the future", to maintain the success of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
"We are growing strongly in Thailand, where we manage our own properties and also those of other hotel owners, and we are also expanding overseas," Suthikiati said. "Our primary objective must be to exceed our current standards and ensure that the new properties build on and enhance the Centara brand name."
Earlier this month, the company was named the "Best Local Hotel Chain" for the third year in succession in TTG (Travel Trade Gazette)'s interŽnational travel awards. Winning the award durŽing the 20th TTG Travel Awards 2009 followed on from Centara's wins in 2008 and 2007.
Suthikiati, who is chairman of the executive board of Central Plaza Hotel Plc, said that although Centara was "immensely proud" to have won the award for three years in succession, in future the company had to work harder to ensure that standards did not fall during what is a periŽod of strong expansion for the group.
Suthikiati said that quality was what has led to "such high guest satisfaction" for properties within the group, and ultimately to the strong performance of the brand.
"We have been in the business for almost 30 years, and other owners appreciate the fact that in addition to a long history of management the group has firsthand experience of hotel ownerŽship. Owners of hotel properties that we manage and operate for them have confidence in us because we can understand the business from their point of view," he said.
Centara Hotels & Resorts currently operates 23 hotels and resorts in Thailand, one in the Maldives and is in the process of opening a propŽerty in India. The group has set a target to manŽage at least 65 hotels in both local and internaŽtional markets over the next five years.
