Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia's High Court on Wednesday sentenced a Thai woman to death by hanging for trafficking cannabis five years ago, a news report said.
Roseedah Cheubong, 41, shed tears in the courtroom in the north-eastern state of Kelantan after the sentence was passed, the official Bernama news agency said.
The single mother of one was caught with more than 1 kilogram of cannabis in February 2004, while waiting in front of a petrol station.
Malaysia's tough drug laws prescribe the mandatory death sentence for those found guilty of trafficking most types of drugs.
