The Chulalongkorn University International Film Festival will show six acclaimed recent movies from Monday to August 28.

It opens with the Chinese comedy "Mad About English". Others are the animated Israeli war drama "Waltz With Bashir", the South Korean horror "Hansel and Gretel", the quirky Swedish comedy "You, the Living", Turkey's "Time and Winds" and "I've Loved You So Long" from France. The movies will be on DVD with English subtitles and will be followed by a panel discussion by critics Kittisak Suvannapokhin, Nopamat Veohong and Kong Rithdee. Artists Pilaiporn Pethrith and Yotaka Ponsak explore the depths of maternal emotions in "Unconditional Love" showing at Gossip Gallery until August 31. Pilaiporn, the mother of a 12-year-old girl, looks at the mother-and-daughter relationship through 12 ink paintings while Yotaka's oils on acrylic express the contentment she has achieved as the mother of a 10-year-old son.
