Beautiful images of all things Asean
Southeast Asia’s rich and colourful culture is highlighted in the “Vivid Asean” exhibition being held at the Asean Cultural Centre on Rajdamnoen Klang Avenue. Running until August 26, the Culture Ministry is holding this photo exhibition to showcase the diversity of Southeast Asia as a tool to strengthen relations in the lead-up to Thailand taking over as Asean chair next year.
On display are many of the 300 images published in a 200-page coffeetable book. The book is divided into 13 chapters, carrying images of topics ranging from food, architecture, costumes and lifestyle to cultural performances and religion. It also depicts Thailand’s multi-cultural diversity.
National artist and photographer Teerapap Lohitkul teamed up with SeaWrite Award winner Jeeranan Pitpreecha, photographer Sayan Chuenudomsavad and author Hor Supawut Jantasaro to put the book together.
