The Future Forward Party should not gloat over its victory in the rerun election for Chiang Mai’s constituency 8 on Sunday.
Constituency 8 is red-shirt territory – so when the Pheu Thai candidate was disqualified, it was only natural that voters there would opt for a like-minded alternative.
However, a victory like this means the FFP must also act on the promises it made to voters in the constituency.
Yet even if those promised tasks are carried out successfully, these voters will opt for a Pheu Thai candidate when the next election comes around.
Hence, the moral of this story: A workhorse will be retired by its master as soon as it has served its purpose.
