Re: “PC has outlawed the truth, and strangled liberty”, Have Your Say, April 5.
You may be correct sir, that, when an objective analysis is done, Buddhism is found not to be a religion.
Yet, according to most sources, Buddhism is a religion. For instance, Wikipedia clearly states this.
Perhaps all the books and other sources which claim Buddhism to be a religion are wrong, and you are right; but the fact of the matter is that your claims have not been universally accepted by many. This is the truth, not political correctness.
So, when it all comes down to it, what you are saying, Mr Wilcox, is true only in your mind. You seem to have an annoying habit of believing that what you say has to be the truth, and that anyone else who does not agree is in error. I have as much right to an opinion as do you, Mr Wilcox, and I suspect that you do not know what the heck you are talking about when you state that Buddhism is not a religion.
I will, however, go with you halfway and say that Buddhism is a religious philosophy, a way of life.
