Re: “Save Thai children from LGBT sharia”, Have Your Say, December 3.
I have to hand it to Nigel Pike. He keeps proving me wrong when I state he couldn’t possibly reach even higher levels of stupidity than he already has.
In his letter of last week he tells us that the purpose of marriage is for a man and a woman to raise a family. What about a man and woman who don’t want to have children or can’t? Should they be prohibited from getting married?
Then he thinks he’s making a brilliant and insightful statement by saying that children are better off with their biological heterosexual parents (even if they abuse the children?) than with a gay couple. But since children who live with their heterosexual biological parents are not up for adoption, his point is completely irrelevant. No one is saying the children of Adam and Eve must now become the children of Adam and Steve!
As someone who is comfortable in his heterosexuality, I have no need to demonise gay people and I always wonder about people who do.
