Regarding the hype around the murdered Saudi journalist again. Am I missing something?

There is a massive clamour from the media and politicians around the world to punish the Saudis. Yes, of course, the murder of Jamal Khashoggi is horrible. But, hang on, aren’t there far more horrific murders, especially mass murders, committed elsewhere, including in countries in the West, on a regular basis? Why aren’t nations placing embargoes on the United States, Europe, etc? Come to think of it, why are we all trading with each other at all, if trade has any ethics? But, of course, these are low profile people. Is it possible that this media hysteria is because the Khashoggi case involves a fellow journalist?
