I find it interesting that the British and US embassies and now the Australian embassy have withdrawn their services in the ever-stupid document collection by the Thai Immigration Bureau.
There has never been a reason why embassies should use their employees for the ridiculous purpose of guaranteeing incomes for their citizens who wish to reside here.
The Immigration Bureau has for years expanded what should be a simple process, adding all sorts of letters, forms and assurances that pile up on their desks and slow down the visa process.
They have only themselves to blame for creating a situation they then can’t deal with. As queues get even longer and service slower, perhaps it’s time they truly looked to a modern digital method of tracking “aliens” and gave the forests a break from the mountain of paper copies they are creating.
