Eric Bahrt, in doing a Queen Gertrude on us and protesting too much, is surpassing even Trumpian levels of hilarity.
In true flibbertigibbet nosy-parker fashion and defending his flaccid argument, he offers us this gem of wisdom: “If Robin Grant and Dr Frank really don’t think it’s wrong to eat meat, then why are they always defending themselves?” Gosh, are we really, Eric?
Here’s another priceless snippet from Mr Bahrt: “First of all, that doesn’t have a damn thing to do with vegetarianism and everything to do with the government not doing its job of monitoring the food supply. More importantly there is a far higher concentration of chemical contamination in meat.” (The Nation, January 15)
So, not another example of “defending” veggie-tripe from you then, matey. Dollops of hypocrisy however. Keep it up though, old fruit. In a world beset by troubles and discord, you provide a good hearty laugh, notably while I’m scoffing my delicious grilled bacon and brown sauce sandwich – without a shred of guilt either. Chortle.
