Harvey, Irma the latest stirrings of our warming world

Are the intensity of hurricanes Harvey in Texas and Irma in the Caribbean and Florida related to climate change?

According to Kerry Emanuel, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor of atmospheric sciences, the rainfall dumped by Harvey represented a 1-in-2000-year event. An almost-simultaneous catastrophe, like the one we have now with Hurricane Irma, is a 1-in-4-million-year event.

The majority of Texans voted for climate change-denier Donald Trump. It is notable that Texas has a big cattle industry, a sector that is a major cause of global warming, according to the UN.

Maybe now people will realise that global warming and vegetarianism are no joke. And the consequences of ignoring these issues will be catastrophic.
