Housed in a 127-year-old colonial mansion directly adjacent to W Bangkok Hotel, The House on Sathorn has established itself as one of Bangkok’s most elegant dining landmarks.
The Courtyard offers an imaginative take on today’s global food culture as demonstrated by chef Fatih Tutak’s new menu, which combines favourite Thai comfort foods with a set lunch menu and an a la carte selection of salads and sandwiches along with Slow Cooked Massaman Curry with Wagyu Ribs or Crab Curry with Celery, Eggs and Onions. Other a la carte highlights to sample are Endives Salad with Quinoa, Blue Cheese and Citrus Vinaigrette and Grilled Beef Kofte served with Pilav and Adapazari Islama. Fresh Phuket lobster joins other delicacies on the Robata Grill menu and sweet treats now include a Peruvian Warm Chocolate Cake with Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream.
“My culinary interest was inspired at a young age by my mother’s home cooking, which developed into a passion and fuelled my dream of becoming a chef,” Tutak explains. “Combining the finest seasonal ingredients from Asia, each dish also reflects my love of travel and delight in the discovery of new things. This ‘fun dining’ concept perfectly balances technique, culinary sensibility and a sense of lightheartedness.”
The set lunch menu sticks to the restaurant’s strengths – hearty comfort foods with a focus on seasonal ingredients. Guests can choose between a two- or three-course set, with highlights including starters such as Sustainable Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare with Radishes and Ginger Dressing along with main choices like Paccheri Pasta with Saffron Cream, Green Peas, Porcini Mushroom, Pecorino and Almonds. The lunch ends with traditional Thai favourite Mango and Sticky Rice with Young Coconut Ice Cream. The price is Bt640++ for two- and Bt780++ for three-courses and is available Monday to Friday from noon to 2.30pm.
