Hot-shot Adisak Kraisorn fired six goals to spearhead Thailand to a demolition 7-0 win over Timor Leste in their AFF Suzuki Cup Group B opening game at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Friday.
The 27-year-old player of Muangthong United produced four goals in the first half before adding two more in the second as the defending champions got off their title defence campaign in style. Supachai Jaided then added the seventh goal for Thailand in the 91st minute, his first international goal.
Supachai became the first player in the national senior team to shoot six goals in one game. But it was Singapore's Noh Alam Shah who scored the most goals (seven) for the tournament's record in the game against Laos in 2007.
The Milovan Rajevac’s side will play host to Indonesia in their second match on November 17 while the islanders will next visit the Philippines on the same day.
