Kongsak Yodmanee was yesterday announced as the 14th governor of the new Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). The 45-year-old former member of the Democrat Party will replace Sakhon Wannapong, whose term will end at the end of the month.
Kongsak, son of former Minister of Tourism and Sports Suwit Yodmanee, beat eight other candidates to receive the unanimous vote of the selection committee.
“I’m honoured to be selected for this position. My main policies will be to reform several sports policies and make them more effective,” said Kongsak.
“I also intend to remedy conflicts between SAT and some sports associations as they are the key bodies to develop Thai sports into high level.”
